"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease." ~Thomas Edison, Inventor
Chiropractic has been helping people with musculoskeletal pain for over 110 years. Medical studies have shown that chiropractic can be effective at treating back pain, sciatica, neck pain, dizziness, headaches, and even high blood pressure. Millions of people have benefited from the natural, conservative, drug-free approach of chiropractic.
Chiropractic is amazingly simple and remarkably safe. As chiropractors, we recognize there is an inherent ability within the human body to heal itself and maintain a healthy, vibrant state. It is our job to assist your body in maintaining that state, and to facilitate the body's self healing. Chiropractic seeks to find and address the underlying cause of a condition or symptom, rather than merely treat pain or other symptoms of a condition.
Often the underlying problem is loss of motion in a joint, called a restriction. These are the areas where adjusting or mobilization will be most beneficial. And if one joint loses movement, the body compensates by moving too much in other areas, which may lead to pain and degenerative changes. Once a restricted joint is identified, the doctor works to mobilize the fixated areas, restoring function to these joints. There are many causes of restricted joints, the most common being poor posture. Others include improper lifting techniques, obesity, sports related injuries, pregnancy, and stress.
Joints that have lost proper motion can also affect the nervous system. It is the nervous system that connects the brain with every system, muscle, organ, and tissue of the body. Every part of your body must have proper nerve supply in order to function properly. If there is interference to the nerve impulses to a particular area of the body, the result is stress. If that stress remains long enough, symptoms will eventually occur, which is when people usually seek chiropractic care.
To put movement in a joint that is fixated, the doctor utilizes chiropractic manipulation or an adjustment to help restore normal function and motion in a joint. We offer several techniques to restore optimal motion.
